Catalog Description Introduction to drawing through the study of historical, theoretical, and cultural works of the human imagination. Examine form and content through conceptual and stylistic developments of drawing as a vehicle for social and cultural expression. Focus on perceptually based drawing, observational skills, technical abilities, and creative responses to materials and subject matter. 4. Course Objectives The student will: Analyze spatial relationships and fundamentals of composition Examine various drawing styles of historical relevance Evaluate conceptual and cultural aesthetics in drawing Consider and critique the artwork of peers in a constructive and insightful manner Investigate and practice observational drawing techniques Research historical and contemporary drawing practice 5.
