Catalog Description A course to introduce the first year /fall semester CVT student, enrolled in the CVT Program, to Invasive Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography and Vascular Technology in the hospital / clinical environment. The course is designed to acquaint and educate the student with the day-to-day procedures and specific job requirements and descriptions for each Track specialty. This course will provide the needed information and clinical observations to enable them in selecting a subspecialty within the field of Cardiovascular Technology. 4. Course Objectives The student will: a. Describe the professional role of the Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist as related to job description, duties, patient care responsibilities, and interdepartmental relationships between members of the allied health care team. b. Describe the professional role of the Noninvasive Adult Echocardiography Cardiovascular Technologist as related to job description, duties, patient care responsibilities, and interdepartmental relationships between members of the allied health care team. c. Describe the professional role of the Noninvasive Vascular Technologists as related to job description, duties, patient care responsibilities, and interdepartmental relationships between members of the allied health care team. d. Employ the attributes of professionalism in the clinical environment with regard to attire, punctuality, and professional bearing. 5. Instructional Facilities a. Standard classroom. b. Methods of Evaluating Student Performance Observation reports. Final exam evaluating observation experiences and learned outcomes. 10.
