Catalog Description A course designed to provide student with a continuation of their clinical experience. This course will provide continued application of invasive, noninvasive and vascular diagnostic techniques and clinical instruction. Students are assigned to local clinical facilities where they participate in the performance of cardiac catheterization procedures, echocardiography and vascular studies as determined by clinical specialty. 4. Course Objectives The student will: a. Evaluate and record pertinent factors of the medical history in preparation of the patient for the performance for diagnostic tests as directed by the instructor and department policy. b. Assist in the performance of cardiac catheterization diagnostic and interventional procedures, echocardiograms, non-invasive cardiology, and vascular diagnostic testing and imaging of the vascular system. c. Record prescribed clinical data for interpretation by the physician. d. Record, measure and calculate prescribed hemodynamic data for interpretation by the physician. 5. Supervised clinical experience by proctors specializing in Echocardiography, Cath Lab, or Vascular ultrasound. b. The Cardiovascular Technology Program instructors will provide oversight. 9.
