Catalog Description This course is designed to allow students interested in pursuing a college level football experience to: (1) develop offensive skills and techniques while acquiring knowledge of the game strategically; (2) analyze drills, formations, techniques of running, passing and receiving for later use in coaching or teaching careers; and, (3) receive practical experience through offensive skill and conditioning drills to improve technique, agility and footwork. 4. Course Objectives The student will: a. Demonstrate knowledge of offensive football techniques and strategies. b. Evaluate and improve individual movement patterns, mechanics and efficiency. c. Practice individual and team skills. d. Analyze opponents strategies and/or formations in a given situation, select and apply the appropriate strategy to respond accordingly. e. Improve skill and knowledge in preparation for participation in the sport of football and/or future coaching or teaching. 5. Instructional Facilities Football or soccer field.
