Catalog Description This course is a study of the different forces affecting ones physical, mental and socio-emotional health in relation to life management. The implication of culture and diversity on belief systems and perception of the world will be examined. Communication, thought processes, and interpersonal relationships will be analyzed for improved self and social awareness. Time and resource management skills will be developed. Special emphasis will be placed on developing critical thinking skills to effectively meet life management challenges. Course Objectives The student will: Develop effective life management and communication skills. Examine the current challenges facing individuals and their families. Cultivate the use of critical thinking as a tool in the decision making process. Analyze interpersonal relations and their impact on self and social awareness. Develop time and resource management skills. Develop skills to aid in the planning of management strategies throughout the lifespan.
