Catalog Description Basic principles, applications, techniques, and design of makeup for theatre, television, and film. 4. Course Objectives The student will: a. Inventory and identify the tools of the makeup artist. b. Define terminology specific to the trade of makeup design and application. c. Analyze characters and create appropriate makeup styles. d. Design and apply age makeup, character makeup, corrective makeup, beards, three-dimensional makeup, and nonrealistic makeup. e. Recognize other aspects of theatre (lighting and costuming) associated with the craft of makeup. 5. Instructional Facilities a. Makeup room with mirrors, lights, and counters with chairs and cabinets. Washroom adjacent to makeup room. b. Whiteboard. c. Ability to project slides, VHS, DVD, and ability to project media. 6.
