Catalog Description This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental theory and practice of modern stage lighting and sound design, functions of light and sound in the theatre, and practical experience with a wide variety of lighting and sound equipment. 4. Course Objectives The student will: a. Comprehend the various qualities and functions of lighting and sound for the theatre. b. Apply the fundamental methods, processes and theories for lighting and sound design. c. Utilize a variety of control systems for theatre lighting and sound. d. Distinguish different types of lighting and sound equipment. e. Analyze dramatic literature from a lighting and sound design perspective. f.
