Certificates of Proficiency

 

Certificates of Proficiency are designed for the student who needs to be prepared for effective interaction in a diverse workplace or other settings. A department-issued certificate may be awarded upon successful completion of a prescribed course of study. These certificates will not appear on a student's transcript.

In addition to courses in the student's chosen language, all candidates for the AA Degree must complete the General Education and Elective requirements of ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP College.

 

Students should consult college catalogs and counselors and visit the campus for particular requirements necessary to transfer to a four-year institution.

This certificate accompanies the completion of Cross-Cultural Studies 115: Cross-Cultural Competence with a letter grade of "C" or higher. It prepares a student to effectively work in our 21-st century cross-cultural environments, both within organizations and in interactions with the public. It provides a framework for a life-long journey of critical reflection and improving upon best practices that move people and institutions toward practices of inclusiveness.

Completion of these courses prepares a student to integrate cross-cultural knowledge and communication skills when interacting orally or in writing with people of diverse backgrounds and/or identities.
