What is the Summer Institute?
The Summer Institute Program (SIP) is an 8-week program designed to help first-time college students transition successfully from high school to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP. Participants will
take two college courses while engaging in social, cultural, and educational enrichment activities.

Courses Included
ETHN 107 – Intro to Ethnic Studies (3 Units)
Explore the histories, cultures, and experiences of diverse communities in the U.S.
with a focus on social justice, identity, and equity. Gain a deeper understanding
of how race, class, gender, and culture shape society.
COUN 120 – College & Career Success (3 Units)
Develop essential academic and life skills to thrive in college and beyond! Topics
include goal setting, study techniques, career exploration, time management, and self-advocacy
to ensure a strong start in higher education.

To participate, students must:
