-- ACE Discontinuation --
Since 1992, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP has provided English instruction to over a thousand F1-visa international students through the ACE Program. ACE helped students meet language proficiency requirements in order to study at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP. We regret that ACE has closed as of June 30, 2025. Please read YOUR OPTIONS (below) to consider your next steps instead of ACE. [Note - If you are in the U.S. and do not have an F1 visa, you may be able to take ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP ESL classes. Visit grossmont.edu/esl.]
You can receive English support and improve your English skills by taking ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP College ESL (English as a Second Language) classes from intermediate to advanced levels. A college ESL class is 6 units and is recommended for all ESL students.
Per F1 visa rules, college students will enroll full-time (minimum 12 units per semester).
In addition to an ESL class, you will choose 6 more units (usually 2 or 3 classes).
During orientation, an international counselor will assist you to choose your classes.
Students must pass an English proficiency test for ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP admission:
Several English schools in San Diego have transfer agreements with ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP.
For a list of schools, visit ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP International Admissions and click on English Proficiency.
For more information about the tests, other required documents, and the online international application to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP, contact Yumiko Hudson and Mika Miller at grossmont.international@gcccd.edu and visit ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP Future Student Website
International students at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏAPP are highly valued. We appreciate your courage and commitment to your educational goals. We look forward to providing you an excellent study abroad experience.
